Braille music!

I was wondering if there is any one interested in braille music. I wated to bring the subject up so if you have any questions comments or words ofwisdom conserning that particular matter please post.

Well, I'm not a good braille music user. What I do use it for is invaluable to me. I have a part time church job, and I braille out the melodies of hymns and such. I can play with one hand and read with the other. I find that although I have a very good ear, the two together make me able to learn the music quicker. I've found other uses for it, but that is the main one.

If you are planning to go into professional classical music playing it must be handy to learn it because it might be hard to memorize whole conchertos by ear.

I think it depends on the individual. For me, I was never that good at braille music, and I learned several movements of larger works by ear. If you have an understanding of musical form, it can structure the way you memorize music, also.
